Re/code: Staff Exodus, Pressure From Microsoft, Apple Hit Google Now

With competing services from Apple and Microsoft nipping at its heels, Re/code’s Mark Bergen reports that most of Google Now’s staff have already departed the project, even before it was highlighted at this May’s I/O.

Larry Page's growing distractions with so called “moonshots,” and Amit Singhal's (head of Google Search) request for the program to move from Android to search are cited by Bergen as possible reasons as to why only one of Google Now's founding team members remains with the company.
