The Verge: Apple Watch is the "most capable smartwatch available today", promptly scores it lower than Moto 360

The Verge's review of the Apple Watch defined yesterday's suspiciously overproduced coverage of Apple's new wearable. It featured a unique (for The Verge) visual-centric layout, shaved arms, enormous block quotes, and was apparently so complicated (or wanting to appear so) to put together that the review actually includes credits at the end. Yep, I said credits.

It contained really useful critiques like:

You have to use both hands to use it…

Apple Watch: the definitive review

And per the title of this post, this oddity:

There’s no question that the Apple Watch is the most capable smartwatch available today. It is one of the most ambitious products I’ve ever seen; it wants to do and change so much about how we interact with technology…

Apple Watch: the definitive review

Final score: a 7. Odd, because, the Moto 360 is also available today and The Verge score for it is (drumroll please…) an 8.1, not just a f*cking 8, but an actual 8.1, which we'll assume is because it does nothing and requires only one arm.
