Developer Ulrik F. Damm's Kaomoji-Keyboard is now available in the App Store for the fairly reasonable price of free. Kaomoji, for those of you just joining Twitter today, are those adorable little Japanese (originally, but not so much anymore) emoticons that you keep seeing everywhere, but have no idea how to input yourself.
Enter Kaomoji Keyboard, which once installed, allows you to enter hundreds of Kaomoji into any app that allows for keyboard input. In addition to a robust library of kaomoji, the app adds convenient touches like access to recently used kaomoji, and the ability to favorite kaomoji with a long-press. Better yet, the Kaomoji Keyboard makes it super simple to build your own personalized kaomoji creatures with an in-keyboard kaomoji editor. Select eyes, mouth, arms, and embellishments, then instantly insert them into your text, though it unfortunately appears that the app currently lacks the ability to save your created kaomoji.
Kaomoji Keyboard is free, but a $1.99 in app purchase will more than double the available Kaomoji “presets”. With or without the IAP, Kaomoji Keyboard is a well thought out app that will have you easily expressing yourself to your friends and family in ways they never thought an adult like yourself should.
